In 2011, Jakin conducted free Malaria Rapid Diagnosis testing (RDT) funded by Global fund through Society for Family Health (SFH) Global Fund Malaria Round 8/AMFm project in 92 communities in Mainland and 37 communities in Somolu Local Government areas. 16,644 community members were tested in Yaba – and Somolu LCDA, 503 people tested positive and 55 were given Anti-malaria combination therapy (ACT) drugs while others were referred for further treatment at primary health centres. Also 1,665 people were reached with knowledge of Malaria prevention, causes and treatment during community social mobilization using playlet and town crying in 27 communities.
