JAKIN N.G.O established on October 12th, 2003 by Mrs Adebiyi Olubukola to solve some of the social ills in our society is registered as Jakinminis International Limited by Guarantee (RC 629819). Our KEY FOCUS AREAS are health, education and entrepreneurship, while our TARGET POPULATION are vulnerable groups such as Vulnerable Children (VC), Widows, People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA’s), women, girls, less privileged youth, families and hard to reach communities.

OUR VISION is a global village devoid of poverty and its consequences while our MISSION is to work with vulnerable groups in Africa to overcome economic, educational and health hardships. Our GOAL is that vulnerable groups have sufficient empowerment to efficiently and effectively fight poverty and its consequences. Our VALUES are transparency, integrity, humility, passion and the fear of God while our STRATEGIES are resource mobilisation, community mobilization, networking and capacity building.

Our Samaritan platform Project (SPP), an initiative which was established in February 2004 to identify challenges needy people face, discover the source and improvise lasting ways of improving their physical, social and financial conditions has supported over 15,000 less privileged people including over 5000 children in Nigeria and as far as Sudan- Darfur, Liberia and Ghana. SPP has received support from FCMB, British International School, Falcon Corporation, Greensprings School, MCC – Southern Australia, Wheelers Motorcycle Club, Global International College to mention a few.

JAKIN N.G.O commenced monthly meetings for orphans and vulnerable children, widows and people living with HIV in 2010 to provide them nutritional, health, welfare, vocational skill and educational supports along with various reformative and transformative trainings. Jakin Children’s Club (JCC) presently has over 500 active orphans and vulnerable children as members that meet every third Saturday of the month. JCC has received outstanding support from Honeywell Group, Lagos Games Group, Falcon Corporation ltd, Friesland Campina Wamco, HLR Ltd- E2give Initiative, Townsend ltd- Vivaldi drinks, Discovery House Montessori School, Leap For Joy preschool among others during their meetings, annual children’s day and annual End of the year party programs. Jakin Widows group (JWG) with over 100 active members that meet every second Wednesday of the month has also enjoyed sponsorship from Lifting hands women fellowship, Forty for Good Group, Falcon Corporation ltd to mention a few. Jakin Samaritan support group for people living HIV/Aids (SPSG) with over 40 members also meet every third Saturday of the month. They have received support from USAID/FHI 360, Cecy Health ltd, MCC – Southern Australia.

Jakin annual Dress A Child for School Project (DACSP) which was inaugurated in 2010 to commemorate the September 8th International Literacy Day has provided basic school items for 3,250 vulnerable children in Lagos State. DACSP has received 4 awards and major sponsorship from Falcon Corporation ltd, DHL Express, NBC, ACCION Micro finance bank, FBN Insurance, Spaghetti records, Vivaldi drinks to mention a few. Through our Fresh Foundation project (FFP), a three months basic business management principles, reorientation, leadership, employability, job search and vocational skills training institute for grass root youths which commenced in March 2013 we  have empowered over 250 grass root youths in the slums of Lagos State as at December 2016. FFP has received major sponsorship from PZ Cusson Innerheart Initiative, DHL Express, FCMB women, Business Unusual ltd and ACCESS Bank – ACT FOUNDATION which is presently sponsoring another 200 participants from 16-24yrs old.

Jakin free basic medical screening and referral centre (JBMRC) which was set up in 2012 has provided HIV, Hepatitis B, Tuberculosis, Malaria RDT, blood pressure, blood sugar, Breast cancer, cervical cancer, prostrate cancer, BMI, Urine pregnancy screening and referral services to over 5000 clients in grassroot and hard to reach communities. JBMRC has received major support from USIAD/SFH, MCC-Southern Australia, Pill box pharmacy, and Cecy Health ltd.

In the last quarter of 2013, Jakin Quarterly Empowerment Training program (JAQET) which provides series of free vocational skill, business management, health and business loan accessing trainings to grass root community members commenced with a three days training for 120 participants. JAQET has received major support from Forty For Good group.

In 2014, we flagged off our Business Scale Up project (BSUP) which is a micro financing unit that provides macro loans to vulnerable women, as at 2016, over 300 grassroot women have already benefitted from the scheme. BSUP has received major sponsorship twice from OMAR COMFORT FOUNDATION.

Over 100,000 clients have been reached with prevention, care, and support services on Hiv/Aids, Tuberculosis, Breast Cancer, Cervical Cancer, Prostate cancer and Malaria in Lagos state through partnerships with several local /International NGO’s and donor agencies such as USAID, FHI 360, UKAID, SFH, ACTIONAID, ARFH, GLOBAL FUND, LAPO among others. Our key operation areas are Resource mobilization and utilization, community mobilization, Prevention, Care and Support, Monitoring and Evaluation with a coverage area of about 12 Local Government Areas (L.G.A) in Lagos State: Lagos Mainland, Lagos Island, Ajeromi Ifelodun, Surulere, Ikorodu, Shomolu, Mushin, Oshodi, Ikeja, Ojo, Amuwo Odofin and Orile Agege LGAs.

This award winning N.G.O has a six member Board of Directors and a staff strength of 20 with 5 full time volunteers. We have over 400 active community volunteers with over 1000 individual partners. We are active members of 9 National networks of NGO’S including the Nigerian Network of NGO’s (NNNGO) where we featured on their website for 12 months consecutively as the member of the month. Also JAKIN N.G.O serves as an executive member in the Lagos State UNICEF Child protection Network (CPN). The organization also presently holds a second position as the coordinator of the Mainland Local Government chapter of the CPN.

Since inception the organization has enjoyed various media exposure featuring in over 20 local and International print and electronic media outfits. Documentaries carried out on our projects showcasing our impact in Nigeria and Africa at large has been shot by local and International journalists including Reuters and aired as far as Japan. JAKIN N.G.O resources are raised majorly from individuals, groups, corporate and Faith based organisation sponsors both locally and Internationally from as far as Southern Australia.
