CECY HEALTH CONSULT LTD PARTNER JAKIN N.G.O FOR EASTER FREE MEDICAL SCREENING FOR 430 OVC & CAREGIVERS
All over the world, individuals, groups, organisations and religious bodies celebrate Easter in various ways, JAKIN N.G.O is not left out. The organisation chose a unique concept which involved using a free medical outreach to combine the commemoration of April 7th – World Health day and April 25th – World Malaria day with celebrating the 2014 Easter Celebration on April 19th.
The free medical screening exercise was conducted with the support of CECYHEALTH CONSULT LTD. 430 orphans and vulnerable children, people living with HIV, widows and other caregivers majorly based in Mainland LGA of Lagos State benefitted from the event.
Apart from the provision of light refreshment by JAKIN N.G.O, the organisaton also provided personal hygeine packs containing soaps (bathing & washing), comb, toothbrush, toothpaste, body cream (children only) and liquid soap (adult only) to the beneficiaries. E2GIVE Initiative also provided nutritional support of 22 cartons of Indomie noodles (2 per child) while 600 Malaria RDT kits were provided by SFH – Society for Family Health.
CECY HEALTH CONSULT LTD conducted the outreach with a team of 13 medical practitioners led by Dr Abayomi Durojaiye. They came with all necessary medical equipments, gadgets, and items to ensure excellent delivery of services. They further added spice to the exercise for the children by giving each child a ballon and also face painting. The services provided included vitals ( weight, pulse rate, and temperature) and blood pressure check, blood sugar and malaria testing, skin washing which include head washing along with dispensing of skin ointments for skin infections.
The beneficiaries are members of Jakin Children’s Club & their caregivers, Jakin Samaritan Platform support group for people living with HIV and Jakin Widow’s group members.
CECY HEALTH CONSULT ltd concluded the exercise with a surprise donation of 2 weighing scales and 2 Blood Pressure monitoring machines to Jakin N.G.O proposed free medical screening center.
