COMMUNITY FREE MEDICAL SCREENING OUTREACHES
This project was established in 2014 to take basic medical screening services free of charge to the door steps of vulnerable community members especially in hard to reach areas. The project provides educational enlightenment talks along with services to its beneficiaries. Services provided include Basic vital signs check up, Malaria, Hepatitis B, Blood Sugar and HIV counselling and testing. Other include, STI and Tuberculosis suspect identification and referral. Services are also provided for clients in Traditional Birth Attendant homes.
In July 2014, a 2 day medical outreach was conducted at Pedro riverine community with the support of 3 Jakin N.G.O partners from Marion Christian Church, Adelaide, Southern Australia, along with 12 volunteers including 3 medical doctors. 584 children and 207 adults benefitted from the outreach. 3 adults and 22 children tested positive to malaria, 1 adult tested positive to hepatitis b, 17 adults had high blood pressure. All children were also dewormed.
